sleepy cole
this boy loves to sleep! he has been a great sleeper since we came home from the hospital but we are in more a routine now than before. here is our typical day:
we wake up around 6 a.m. depending how tired I am, I will either nurse cole in his room & put him back down or either bring him to our room and nurse and then snuggle all together. I prefer to snuggle all together. if we do that then cole sleeps until 9:30 or 10 a.m.
if we put him down in his crib after his first wake up then he usually gets up around 8 a.m. we will have breakfast together and around 9:30-10 he is ready for a nap. we have been napping him in his crib and he does really well with this now. before he didn't. he loves his mobile so we put that up during the day and take it down at night.
he sleeps for about an hour and then we get up and either have play time on the mat, read books or go somewhere. if bry isn't here, I prefer to go somewhere. I get cabin fever easily these days.
he eats a lot during the day but we do not have set times for anything. we like to go with the flow. makes for a more laid back baby and life!
he takes another nap sometime during the day but we have learned the best trick for cole is to have a nap about 30-45 minutes before we put him down for the evening.
we read, do tummy time or playmat before bath. we start bath at 7 p.m. every night. this is a little more structured for us because he gets easily overtired at this time of the night and he is harder to put down. after bath time, we give his "baby massage", dress and then nurse or a bottle. he seems to take a bottle more now at night because he is so tired. after a bottle, we say our prayers together and usually he is out for the night.
then
REST
ahhhhh
waiting
bry has been waiting for this day for a long time. the day he and his son can match in their jerseys and watch baseball together. oh, the good things to come!
